2 Minute Meal!

Sometimes, you just need a quick meal.

Maybe it is after a long day at work, or perhaps when you are traveling and don’t want to have to buy a lot of ingredients for a meal. But…you want to feel nourished, not tired, bloated, and bogged down by the usual meals that can be ready to eat in just two minutes.

This meal literally takes the :20 it takes you to open the packages, the :40 it will take to slice the chicken sausage, and the :60 it takes to warm up the chicken sausage slices in the microwave. (If you are anti-microwave, you can warm up the slices in a toaster oven or in a pan on the stove, just allow yourself more than the 2 minutes I am suggesting.)

This meal is simple:

Sauerkraut

It doesn’t have to be chicken sausage…it can be any type of sausage, I just have found several brands of chicken sausage that have just real food as ingredients without any unnecessary preservatives. They are pre-cooked, making them an easy go-to in a time crunch. I found the Mighty Spark Food brand pictured at Sprouts while at a seminar OPEX HQ in Arizona and was very pleased with the ingredients as well as the taste. It was a great fit for anyone who is looking to avoid dairy and grains. They even donate a meal to fight childhood hunger for every item purchased, so it is a win-win for all!

Sauerkraut: I know this is a tough topic for some, but the probiotics found in sauerkraut are simply too beneficial for your gut health to not include in your diet.

I get it…fermented foods can be somewhat of an acquired taste, but I will tell you, these pre-made sauerkrauts like from Farmhouse Culture are a great way to acquire that taste! They have several different flavors, and are ready to eat right out of the bag. I have regularly found them Sprouts in several different regions of the U.S., and they are consistently stocked at the Franklin Sprouts store.
